Based in the eighties, the movie "Doonie Darco" portrays a teenage boy who is battling

with the disease of skitzafrania. Incorporated into this young mans nightmare is the theory of

time travel. Throughout the movie we watch how this young man learns to cope with his

hallucinations by unraveling the possibility of traveling through time tunnels. His disability starts

to appear to have a meaning. Also included in this disturbing movie is how Donnie has to deal

with being a teenage boy who is alone in his despair and how he goes about dealing with a

world that does not understand him nor has much to offer in the way of healing including his

school peers, teachers, family members and his therapist. Because of Donnie's battle, he is

disturbed and does not see the world as others around him do. He has the ability to see truth
