Dochera

As I was reading some short stories, I came across two stories. What got my attention,
was these two short stories, Dochera, by Edmundo Paz-Soldan and The Snob, by Morley
Callaghan. Even if these two stories are different, they have similar points, morals, aspects but
all in two different, contexts. But as we go along, we’ll clearly be able to see how similar and
somewhat different they are. Before we proceed, I’ll present both stories, starting with Dochera.


Dochera, which was written by Edmundo Paz-Soldan talks about a man named Loredo
living in a crossword world. He’s a ``daily routine`` man, he would wake up everyday, with the
same clothes and create crossword for which he gets payed on the spot. After a while he meets
this mysterious woman with the name Dochera...In the long run, Loredo starts inventing a new
world, all because of Dochera, a woman who he bumped into. As we go along with the story, we
can see how much he wants Dochera, day by...
