ISSUE- Do we need to be thin to be accepted and how big a part does the media play this???

Many people go through their lives being classed as different because of the way they look. Some are too fat, some too thin etc, but should this matter and is beauty only skin deep.
These pressures of being ¡§too fat¡¨ often lead to eating disorders. These eating disorders effect about 60 000 people in the UK. The two main types of eating disorders are,
ľ Anorexia
ľ Bulimia
Anorexia is the deliberate loss of weight and sometimes when you avoid eating completely. Unlike normal dieting which stops when the desired weight is reached, anorexics continue to diet even when they have reached their average or healthy weight.
Bulimia is another serious eating disorder. Bulimics often binge eat and then make themselves sick. Most bulimics don¡¦t lose weight they just stay the same. This is because they eat a great quantity of food but then they make themselves sick, s...
