Do Violent Video Games Cause Aggressiveness in Children?

Many years ago America’s youth was dazzled by the simplest forms of entertainment such as jump ropes, bicycles, and swing sets. Now, as time has progressed, our children have quickly been engulfed by new forms of technology. Instead of board games and kickball, video games are now the primary source of entertainment for the extremely impressionable youth of today.
Video games that were first marketed in the 1970’s were slowly accepted. It wasn’t until the introduction of Nintendo in the early 1980’s that video games really begin to catch on. When video games first became widely accepted, the content was harmless. Pac Man and Pong were relatively non-violent games that were also among the most popular (Cesarone 1).
