The death penalty is a very important decision to give someone after they have committed a crime. Different people have different opinions on the death penalty. Some people feel that the court system should not be able to decide on whether or not a person should die. Some people support the death sentence depending on the reason. It is an important decision because a person can be innocent but found guilty and get the death penalty.
People that feel that the death penalty is not necessary probably think that they are being compassionate. They should look at the victim of an execution-style shooting point of view. An example of an execution-style shooting would be for a person to make another person turn around and shooting them in the back of the head. That is a very cruel thing for someone to do. The death penalty would be a good consequence for the criminal who commits this crime.
