Diversity

I attended the panel discussion on February 21 at 3:00 – 6:00 in Kline Hall. The topic of discussion was Defining One’s Own Identity with Dr. Phil Wander as a Moderator. I felt this to be a very important discussion as a teacher, because each and every day students as well as teachers are trying to define who they are, who they want to be and how to come about it. It was a very good session to go to and I really learned a lot about the many walks of life people take.
There was an array of speakers in this session. Students that spoke in this session were Aundre Bell (DSU) and he had a very brief speech about how he felt identity was forever changing by meeting new people that impact your mind and therefore your life. The next speaker was Gayla Greer (DSU), she defined her identity as a mother, wife, sister, daughter, cousin and friend.
