Diversity
Diversity is the mixing of race or gender in educational and employment opportunities.
In the student body it’s imperative to create a campus environment which encourages tolerance
and respect for individuals regardless of differences in age, race, ethnicity, sex, religion, and
sexual orientation. Colleges have worked to create programs to study experiences, perspectives,
and contributions of a wide variety of cultures, groups, and individuals. They need to recruit,
enroll, and educate diverse populations of students who represent the overall composition of their
society. Colleges need to provide a good climate for students and employees of diverse
backgrounds and is guided by fairness and equity. Harassment and discrimination on any
campus shouldn’t be tolerated.
