Disease that affects apperence writen in 1st person

Hello, I was born in Arizona into a loving household. Unfortunately, heat wasn’t my only problem when I was growing up. I was born with the disease Elephantites. Elephantites causes one or more body parts to be overly proportioned, compared to the rest of someone’s body. For me it was a mild yet still very emotionally scaring form of the disease. My left ear was twice as large as the right ear, unfortunately didn’t hideously deform me but it was twice as bad. I wasn’t given much sympathy for it, because it was such a slight deformation. As I went through life and into my teens I was given the worst treatment in my whole life, but two times stick out in my mind.
