I’m from the Czech Republic and have been living in Neath for a year, working as an au pair and studying English in the College’s Queen Street Centre. The main reason for returning to education is that I decided that I would like to be a primary teacher.

When I was a child I had never thought about my future career. Stories and fairy tales influenced me and I wanted to have various adventures. Then I started to attend basic school and all my dreams changed. My plans for my future career changed from day to day. I wanted to be an actress, a cook, a scientist, a postman, an artist and a teacher. Later my parents advised me to go on to secondary school education.

During secondary school I began to think about my future more seriously. I began to realise I wanted to work with people; I wanted to do something meaningful for them.
