There is a vast difference between those people known as traditionalist and those known as progressives. Traditionalist hold what are known as “traditional beliefs”; they are conservative, religious, older, and patriotic. Progressives are somewhat of the opposite. They are much more liberal and believe in cultural relativism; religion or patriotism does not bind them because they are a bit more free-spirited. If I were to label myself as one or the other, I would most likely be a progressive. When looking over their views on issues like family values, religion, homosexuality, and other problems, I agreed more with their side.
When discussing the issue of family values, traditionalists believe in the whole one mother, one father, and 2.5 children family. The nuclear family is their ideal family.
