In the long history of the world, many countries have started developing their countries in terms of living conditions, sanitation and education by applying different means like eradication of malnutrition and illiteracy. To achieve the goals, different nations have their own strategies or development approaches. While there are many different models of development, this essay will focus on two notions only one based on Truman’s vision-transferring technical skills from developed to undeveloped countries and the other is trade-driven development. Finally, this essay is going to evaluate some positive and negative impacts of development on the economy and society by referring to one South East Asian country, Thailand.
