Discovering Adult Truths

Alberto Rios delves back in time and his childhood when writing the short story “The Secret Lion.” From the beginning to the end this author reaches out to touch each adult reader, pulling out memories that have been buried for years. Not a deep, dark things hidden for some obscure reason, just the way life was as a child, and the changes that took place when the child inside each of us started to change into the adult we became.
Told from Rios’ experience as a young person, this is an intimate glimpse given into the author’s mind as well as some secrets that were held closely for many years being shared with his readers. Some may find this to be a somber short story but others will be delighted to find not only parts of themselves, but the thoughts and ideas they held (and often still do) toward those in positions of authority – never to really trust those that have the knowledge, it will not be given freely or honestly.
