Catholic church
St. Boniface church is a very traditional building. Modern Catholic churches are less ornate. The most important feature in a Catholic church is the altar, as this is where Mass takes place everyday. From Monday to Saturday, only bread is received but on Sundays, both bread and wine are received because it is more important as it is the Sabbath day. Mass is important to Catholics because it reminds them of the Last Supper when Jesus changed the meaning of Passover to the crossing over from death to life and told the disciples to drink the wine and eat the bread in remembrance of him. Unlike Baptists, Catholics believe in transubstantiation (that the bread and the wine become Jesus, they don’t just represent him.) The bread they use isn’t real bread, it is wafers and the wine must be alcoholic. The tabernacle is also kept on the altar. This is important to Catholics as this is where the bread is kept.
