Background of the community

Ntuzuma section C Township is situated in a peri-urban area, which is surrounded by shacks the name of the area where there are shacks is called Kwa-Mancinza. These shacks constitute of people who are disadvantaged, the aged that is neglected, the high rate of people infected with HIV/AIDS has caused a number of children to become orphans. The area is crowded with school leavers who are mostly boys ranging from the age of 18 to 20, these school leavers hang around doing nothing and at the end they do crime. The parents in this community are very low paid labourers because they work as domestics and so the wage is very low. Because these parents are very low paid they do cannot afford to pay for the high fees for day care and crèches they are forced to leave their children at home unattended, these children play in slums and are not exposed to healthy diets so they become ill.
