Desiree's Baby

There was a time not so long ago when a man’s superiority and authority wasn’t a question but an accepted truth that women are portrayed as weak and absent personalities, who are dependent on men for their livelihood.. In the story “Desiree’s Baby by Kate Chopin I see an example similar to this. This is a story of love, rejection and prejudice, a story with moral beginnings that slowly turns to expose a revolting side of human relations. I see Armand, a wealthy landowner in the south which is then confronted by a family secret that has been hidden for years. Armand who was innocent of this secret makes wrong assumptions that later on brings tragic decisions made by him during the story.
Likewise, in the south the bloodlines were very important for the status of a family and their social placement that kept family pure. In this story I see the conflict of man vs. man which is the relationship that Armand has with his wife. At the beginning of the story he is a very nice me...
