Defending the Death Penalty
The Death Penalty is a very controversial issue. Today, it is practiced all around the world, and is done for many different reasons. Some people feel that the death penalty is wrong and immoral; others believe that it is moral and just. The death penalty is a practice that has been down for a very long time, and should be continued, it proves that we as humans will not stand for violent and hateful murders, and that we will take action. Therefore, the death penalty is a good way to execute our rights as humans and as victims.
As stated previously, the death penalty is used all around the world; “95 other countries retain and use the death penalty,…” (Amnesty International, n. pag.). In the United States, 38 states provide for the death penalty under their state laws, and our country also provides for the death penalty in US federal military and civilian law (Amnesty International, n. pag.).
