Deconstruction of texts related to the quote ' its journey and not the destination that matters'

The idea that it’s the journey itself and not the destination that matters is represented in many texts. This idea is constructed throughout these texts using a number of different techniques and ideas.


The poem ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Robert Frost constructs the idea that it’s the journey itself and not the destination that matters. The composer discusses many small ideas to construct the larger idea.
The composer raises the idea that Journey can bring about regret and sadness. The composer constructs this idea by using emotive language. Some emotive words that are used are ‘Sigh’, ‘Sorry’ and ‘Doubted’. These words give the character in the text a feeling of regret for taking the path that they chose. This idea shows that the journey itself is more important that the destination by showing us that by choosing the wrong type of journey in the first place, the destination will be not what you planned.
