Death of a Salesman

Arthur Miller’s play, Death of a Salesman, is a story of the life lead by a traveling salesman named Willy Loman, who is defeated by his lack of success and difficult family life. Biff, Willy’s oldest son, is a well-known football player in high school. However, he fails to graduate post-secondary, and has remained a failure ever since which pretty much carries on into his adolescent years. Biff has drifted from one job to the next never being able to find stability due to having his father’s view of life. His father, Willy, has been known to find shortcuts to fame and fortune through his false hopes and dreams which contributes to his lack of achievement in Willy’s life as well his own.
