Darwinism

There are many theories as to how people came to be on this earth; there is the biblical creation story of Adam and Eve, the creation story from the Koran, the Hindu creation story and also the well-known Darwinian theory of the survival of the fittest. Of these different theories, the belief in the Darwinian theory seems to be quite popular amongst many people. This theory of Darwinism has been applied to the study of human society, especially a speculation in sociology that suggests that individuals or groups of individuals can achieve an advantage over others as the result of genetic or biological superiority (Science In Society Handout). Since the term social Darwinism is so vague it can be used to defend the arguments of people with many different viewpoints. It doesn’t speak of one race of people or a type of religion; therefore it can apply to just about anything.
