Lifesaver Longevity Lab

I. Purpose – The purpose of this experiment is to determine the best technique to make a lifesaver last the longest while in contact with you mouth.
II. Hypothesis – If the smallest possible part of the lifesaver is exposed, then it will last longer. Therefore, if I grip the lifesaver with my teeth and lightly touch it with the tip of my tongue, then it will last the longest.
III. Method –
A. Materials:
1) Lifesaver
2) Stop watch
3) Six Mouths
B. Procedure
1) Open Lifesaver wrapper and place candy between teeth.
2) Touch with tip of tongue and simultaneously start stopwatch.
3) Hold tongue on candy until the candy is dissolved in mouth.
4) Stop the stopwatch.
5) Record data.
IV. Data –
There is a 15 second margin of error due to reaction time and report time.
