Crucible vs. Islamic Extremists

The mindset of the court portrayed in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible can be compared to the mindset of Islamic extremists towards women. These Islamic people believe that men should be held above women, even though they have no real reasoning behind their thoughts and actions. The mindset of the Islamic people is comparable to the jury and judges in The Crucible, wherein, they believe that certain women are witches and have sold their souls to the Devil. The characters making accusations in The Crucible do not have any real reasoning behind their accusations either. There are many things that are similar between Islamic Extremists today as well as the people 300 years ago portrayed in The Crucible.
