Introduction
The article is an editorial in a Jakarta publication that offers opinions on the current state of language education in Indonesia. The author believes that as global competition is heating up, language skills are becoming increasingly important. In Indonesia, these skills are being overlooked due to outdated methods of teaching, and a lack of awareness that language is a critical thinking tool.
