Economic Status and the Crisis of Youth
According to dictionary.com, a crisis is defined as a crucial or decisive point or situation; a turning point, or an unstable condition, as in political, social, or economic affairs, involving an impending abrupt or decisive change. Therefore, we are able to sense the insecure condition that exists among children when we use the term “crisis of the youth.” However, when children are hurt, it is often not only the fault of the parents, but is also supported by the economic status of the family, which is shown in Porter’s “He,” and Williams’ “The Use of Force.”
