have chosen to do my independent study project on "How Credit Cards

Work". During my presentation I will cover things such as their history,

how they're authenticated, what the numbers mean, how the magnetic stripe

works, card types and smart cards.

When talking about their history I will discuss things such as where they

originated, who invented the first credit card, how loans worked, who issued the

first credit cards and how they became part of the information age.
