Crazy Courage

In her poem, “Crazy Courage,” Alma Luz Villanueva asserts that nonconformist
behavior takes immense courage. She is first introduced to Michael B. when he enters her fiction class dressed, as any man would be, in men’s clothing. “Moved by the gentleness of his masculinity,” she notices the same mild mannered man dressed in a “mini skirt, high boots…and purple tights” enter her poetry class.
