Corruption

The author of ‘Mass Entertainment’ stated that sport was a great social tranquillizer in the growing industrial towns by which churches and firms encourage it, playing- fields were laid out, and games were scheduled on ‘holy days’. However, there have been many examples of corruption in sports in recent years to the point where sport has become a game without shame. Is it true that sport is riddled with corruption? Although, there are those who say that sportsmanship is still alive in some sports, However, I agree with George Orwell statement that sport is war minus the shooting.

Some people define good sportsmanship as the "golden rule" of sports - in other words, treating the people that you play with and against, as you'd like to be treated yourself. You demonstrate good sportsmanship when you show respect for yourself, your teammates, and your opponents, for the coaches on both sides, and for the referees, judges, and other officials.
