Constantine the Great

Constantine the Great (about AD274-337), was born at Ni ( now Serbia). He was the son of Constantius Chlorus, who ruled the western part of the Roman Empire. Constantine joined his father, who ruled in the west, at Boulogne on the expedition against the Picts, and before Constantinus died (306) he proclaimed his son his successor. 1
Constantine is the first Roman ruler to be converted to Christianity. He became disposed to accept Christianity by his mother. His father, although he was a pagan, nevertheless protected the Christians, seeing that Christians were faithful servants and honest citizens.1
