How Do Conjugal and Family Visitations affect an inmate’s behavior?

When a person is found guilty of a crime and incarcerated they have a lot of emotional and psychological responses. An inmate starts to feel lonely, guilty and sometimes restless. With this, a prisoner looks for someone to talk too or a friend behind bars. They begin to adapt to prison life by accepting the norms of the people around them. These norms come with rules in prison and the rules might go against what a person believes inside or out of prison. That is why some believe that keeping family ties and scheduling regular visits can keep an inmate in better behavior. A family can keep a person positive and in touch with the world on the outside. This can give an inmate hope or have the opposite reaction, the link to the outside world can also bring back what got them there.
