Conflict Theory

History
The first time conflict theory was introduced was by Karl Marx in relation to economics in 1859.It wasn't until the 1950s that George Simmel began to challenge the consensus and functional models in sociology. In 1858 George Vold proposed that group conflict also explained criminal behavior. Conflict theory was further developed in the 1960's with the attention focused on explaining criminal law.
