II. Description of Project:

The purpose of this project is to improve driving visibility at night on unpaved roads and during off-road conditions. On rough terrain, conventional headlight systems are often ineffective. The light beam emitted illuminates whatever the front of the car is pointing at. Which also means if a sudden dip is encountered the front end and the headlights of the car will be momentarily pointing at the ground. Likewise, if a bump is encountered, the headlights will be momentarily pointing upwards. Under these conditions conventional headlights do not illuminate the upcoming road, possibly creating a dangerous situation.
By automatically adjusting the aim of the headlights, the Active Headlight System will dramatically improve visibility at night.
