COMPETITION

What is competition? According to the Canadian Intermediate Dictionary, Competition is an effort to obtain something wanted by others. It is a contest, especially one in which there is a prize for the winner. In today’s world competition is everywhere. There are two perspectives one can consider when talking about competition; the idealistic view and the realistic view. Humans can often be driven by greed but can’t they also be driven by morality?
Idealism is a behaviour and following of one’s beliefs. Idealism was created by Philosopher, Plato. He believed that the highest principle of all things is God, and therefore concluded that humans live on the knowledge of “ideas,” and that it is impossible to know whether there really is a world of objects on which our ideas are based. An idealist views human nature as good and altruistic and that by working together humans can make this a more loving and peaceful world. But ...
