Comparison of Rowlandson & Equiano

Mary Rowlandson and Olaudah Equiano wrote of their experiences with slavery, with different messages in mind. They dealt with fear and terror while being subjected to the evils of slavery. Although they did deal with fear, they learned from their experiences. Both Mary Rowlandson and Olaudah Equiano both suffered through the horrors of kidnapping and slavery.
The Wampanoag Indians captured Mary Rowlandson and her child. She called her captors ?miserable comforters? after her child died of disease. There was little food and water for the Wampanoags and Mary Rowlandson, but she did sew for animal meat. She learned survival skills and learned parts of the Wampanoag?s language.
