Comparison between Chinese Herbal Medicine and Western Medicine

There are two main medicinal practices in the world: The practice of Western medicine, and the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In this project, I will be talking about, and then comparing, both the pros, and the cons of both Western Medicine, and Chinese herbal medicine (CMH).

Originating in China over 5,000 years ago, Chinese Herbal Medicine, even now, provides almost half of the medical treatment in China and has become increasingly popular amongst Western countries. It is now a respected form of healing all around the world.
CHM focuses on doing two things. The first, is bringing the body to a balance using the ‘Yin’ and ‘Yang’ theory. This theory states, that Yin and Yang are both forces in the universe (Yin being the negative force, Yang being the positive force), present in all of nature, in animals, and in human beings, balancing each other out, resulting in inner harmony.
