Comparing “Salvation” & “Araby”

The main character in Salvation is a young boy who I think has a confused character and doesn’t go with what he believes himself.
In other words, since someone told him that something will happen he trusted the other person and just for some sort of misunderstanding he lost his faith.
I think I should say that he had a pure personality and was an irresolution character that was ok at his age I think.
