Rap and Rock are They Really That Different

There may be many of differences between rock and rap music, but I believe that they are actually a lot alike. Rock has been a popular form of youthful music since the 1950’s, although Hip-Hop never made it until the 1980’s. While they both originated from the same source, to most people Rock is generally thought to be a white person’s music, and rap is thought to be African American music. The source was African American blues and jazz. Rock and rap use different types of musical sounds, drumbeats, and lyrical tones to reach out to people who understand the lifestyle the music portrays.
Rock’s sound is composed of guitars, drums, and vocals. It’s lyrical sound generally mirrors the sound of the music being played.
