Communists won once again
The Vietnam War began in 1957 and ended in April 30th 1975. It cost the United States severely with thousands of American soldiers and billions of dollars. During the war, the majority of Americans did not support President Nixon’s aid for South Vietnam; there were many protests and chaos throughout the United States itself. With the help of the United States, South Vietnam was able to hold against North Vietnam until American troops withdrew from Vietnam due to the Paris accord of 1973, an agreement to bring the war to an end by both sides, North and South Vietnam. One of the reasons South Vietnam could not stand against communist leaders from North Vietnam were the corruptive problems in the South Vietnamese government including bribery and amassing government properties.
