Clive James

The whole purpose of the novel “Unreliable Memoirs” by Clive James is to entertain his readers. His book is loosely based on his childhood and the antics he got up to. He also wrote this book to relieve himself of some of the guilt due to the pain and anguish he put his mother and other people through due to his selfishness. James uses many comic and language techniques to keep his audience entertained. Such techniques as: hyperbole, metaphor and simile (to name a few) are all included to add depth and significance to his humor.
