Cinderella: Bad Role Model

“Cinderella” appears to be the best-known fairy tale in the world, since nearly every culture has its own version of “Cinderella.” Cinderella is a hard working young woman, who is mistreated by her stepmother and two stepsisters. She does everything for them, from the housekeeping to sewing, even making dresses for her two stepsisters to wear to the prince’s ball. Many young women strive to be like Cinderella because she marries a prince and lives happily ever after. In reading the story of Cinderella, one sees that she is not a good role model. She allows people, such as her stepmother and stepsisters, to take advantage of her and she does not stand up for herself. Though smart, Cinderella is repressed and she does not reach her full potential. She is not able to live life to the fullest.
