Church

The Church has the responsibility to determine the morality of many questions faced in today’s modern society. Many of these questions include the issues of pre-marital sex, contraception, abortion, homosexuality, and divorce. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (second edition, promulgated by Pope John Paul II) answers all of the Catholic Church’s teaching on these issues.
Pre-marital sex, or fornication as explained in the Catechism, is the "carnal union between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman. It is gravely contrary to the dignity of persons and of human sexuality, which is naturally ordered to the good of spouses and the generation and education of children. Moreover, it is a grave scandal when there is corruption of the young." (Life in Christ # 2353)
From a moral standpoint this is a correct stance on this issue by the Church. Pre-marital sex is wrong because the couple is not married and therefor should not partake in sexual activity. The marriage bond of fidelity...
