Christian and non-christian love

In this essay, I am going to explain what Christians mean by love, and also give some non-Christian views on love to see if they really are so different. I am also going to see if everyone agrees on what love is, and if there are different types, if so, what they are.

In English, we have one single word for love, whereas in Greek, they have many different words for it:
o Eros – Sexual love/ physical love. When someone is attracted to someone, they’re often in a state of Eros, because they are sexually attracted to someone.
o Ludis – Flirtatious, teasing love. This love is associated with a teenage kind of love. It is where the parties play games, resulting in a fleeting type of quick romance. Ludis is an outward expression of love. It is often intended to arouse another to physical attraction, which can lead to Eros.
o Philo – Brotherly love. Love that is generated and/or related because of a common bond.
