Children Soldiers Essay

Throughout time and history, nearly all children have been given an innocent view of the world. However, this does not apply to those children in countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, where death and war are a part of everyday life. In several parts of the world, children ranging from eight years old to mere pre-teenagers are either voluntarily or forcefully being recruited into the army to then stake their lives on the battlefield. By doing so, these countries are going against Article 38 Convention on the Rights of the Child, an international law in which prohibits children¡¦s participation in hostilities. Increased compliance with governments to Article 38 can be accomplished through army enrollment in training facilities, increased law enforcement on Article 38, and knowledge of the social/political cause of wars.
Army enrollment in training facilities may possibly lower the percentage of children recruitment in the war. A mandatory training facility for adult soldier...
