Child labor

According to the International Labor Organization, in developing countries alone, at least 120 million children between the ages of 5 and 14 are working full time. Many of these children are working in hazardous and unhygienic conditions for extremely long periods of time, and earning very little pay. This is not something that has occurred over night. Throughout history in many places of the world, child labor has become an economic dependence. Since the industrial revolution a large number of children have worked in factories and sweat shops.
Today, high numbers of child labor occurs in poor, undeveloped, and third world countries. Due to the fact that the countries are poor, there are no strict law enforcement to protect children. Poverty is a factor, because poor people are vulnerable for exploitation.
