It's the weight off your shoulder,” has been said by David Pelzer, the author of A Child called β€œIt.” This is a true story about Dave himself, and the horrible childhood that he lived. The book starts out with an introduction of Dave, an eight-year-old boy in the early 1970’s. Dave had a mother who was a horrible alcoholic and other mental problems that led her to treat David as her slave. Although Dave had two other brothers, his mother singled him out and did brutal things to him. He slept in the garage, no matter what the circumstances, and when not sleeping sat at the bottom of the stairs on his hands until his mother called him up to so his chores. Dave would receive many chores in which he had a time limit to finish. If he did not finish, there were many consequences. Dave was rarely fed, and if he was it was his brothers left over cereal from breakfast, or food he picked out of the garbage. D...
