The author explains how the movie born in east L.A. affected of a lot of people in during the 80’s, people in search of their identity and those Chicanos who had assimilated and forgotten their roots. Although through out the article cheech the main character of born in East L.A. is referred as Moses as the different similarities that he experiences and the way that Moses had a responsibility with himself to take his people to the promise e land.
Cheech finds himself in search of his identity after becoming a Chicano and assimilating, he had forgotten his true roots and that with out that he wouldn’t be able to call himself a Chicano.
