CHICAGO

Theater, especially musical theater, has been a very important part of my life. It is an escape of sorts, a way of living in someone else’s shoes for a moment or two. This is true not only for the performer but for the audience as well. Musical theater can take you to a different time, to meet different people, to a place you have never been. It can educate as well as entertain and even inspire. There are many different aspects of musical theater that can make either a strong or weak production. Some of these elements are storyline, music, and choreography. In the musical “Chicago,” I think these three elements come together to make a very entertaining, strong production.
In most straight plays you will see many different subplots and storylines that lead you in different directions.
