Cheerleading

The crowd is roaring with applause. Your stomach is filled with butterflies and is twisting itself in knots. The anticipation of what to come is driving you crazy. You check your hair one last time and then you run. You yell with all your might, hoping that someone will hear you. The temperature in the room seems to have risen 50 degrees in the last second and as the music starts, you are now in the spotlight. This is the feeling you get as a cheerleader. Cheerleading is a popular sport that has gone through a long history of changes to be what it is today. After doing a wide range of research on cheerleading and its history, as well as being a cheerleader for 5 years and going to competitions and many cheering events, I have learned a lot about the sport itself, its history, and how it is today.
