Characterization of Chris Chambers

Chris Chambers is a twelve years old boy (cf.p2) who lives in Castle Rock, Maine in the USA (cf. p1+5). He is the “strongest and bravest boy of the gang” (p14).
He comes from a poor (cf p9) and bad family: he is often beaten by his unemployed father (cf p9) who once put him into hospital with a broken nose (cf p9). His eldest brother is in prison (cf p9) and his other brother hangs around with the hardest guys of the town (cf p9).
He is the only one in the gang who does not drink alcohol (cf p12). This is because his father is an alcoholic and nearly always drunk. In chapter 7 he takes the handgun of his father and a few bullets. This shows that he is perceptive and has an awarene...
