Characterization is defined as a method used by an author to reveal a character’s appearance or personality. The characterization of one or more characters can be a very important aspect in a story. I t may help develop the plot of the story, or it even may help set the mood of the story. In “Winter Dreams,” Fitzgerald elaborately characterizes Judy Jones through her actions and through the thoughts of Dexter Green.
It all started when a little girl, by the name of Judy Jones, stepped onto the golf course. She walked out with a very confident air about her. She had come from a wealthy family and was thought highly of. When she walked onto the course, she requested a teacher or a caddy from Dexter.
