Patriarchy Gets Funky

In the early ninties student bodies rallied against the social injustice that was occurring amongst their academic community. Riots arose over things that have now become part of a manipulative marketing scheme for corporate industries. Same sex issues, racism and sexism were a few of the many problems that these intellectuals were fighting against. Unfortunately “personal politics” consumed most activists, letting the real problem slip out of reach.
Initially trying to subvert the images that were being exhibited in magazines, television shows and advertisements seemed like the right thing to do. Eventually striving for a better social environment fell victim to it’s own narcissism.
Mainstream enemies didn’t feel a threat towards these activist, they accepted them with open arms, dissected the occurrences and used them to their advantage.
