Sex! Is that still taboo to talk about today in public? It is something kids are learning about from the television and movies. Should we put more restraints on whether a minor can see an R rated movie? How are we so sure that all the theatres are complying with the regulations of the Federal Communications Committee? Censorship, where do we draw the line?
In the Constitution of the United States, the First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech, religion, press, the right to assemble and to petition the government; the Ninth Amendment says, "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people". So it seems one cannot use any of the other rights to quell the rights of an individual or group. Then why is the government trying to censor literature, movies, music and art?
